Health, Safety and the Environment
Considering the company vision to become a first-class supplier of
products and services to the naval and maritime industry, Hellenic
Shipyards S.A. could not withhold of placing health, safety and the
environment high on the list of its commitments.
In order to carry out its operations in a responsible manner the
company established specific objectives to ensure:

The health, safety and welfare of all employees, visitors,
contractors, suppliers and the public who may be affected by its
operations, and |

The protection and enhancement of the environment with committing
to resource conservation by incorporating waste minimization,
recycling and pollution prevention. |
Hellenic Shipyards SA has commenced, since July 2005, the process of
establishing and implementing the requirements of OHSAS 18001 for
occupational health and safety, and ISO 14001 for the environment
within all its productive divisions, with the target of achieving
certification to both management systems in year 2006.
Following this path, the company aims to place more confidence in
the trust shown by its customers but also assure reliance on the
strengths of an organization that has a firm conviction in higher
life quality and sustainable societies.
