HSY Submarines' Infrastructure


The infrastructure of the Submarine Division at HSY is one of the most modern in the world, able to build, modernize and repair all types of conventional submarines.


This infrastructure consists of:

 

Two (2) large fabrication and outfitting halls to accommodate up to 4 complete submarines independent of weather conditions.
Outside transfer and staging area for up to five (5) complete submarines.
Ship-lifting equipment with piers for up to four (4) submarines.
A sandblasting and painting hall.
Storage and service areas.
Workshops and Offices in the immediate vicinity of the above buildings

 

All shops are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. All buildings fulfill environmental requirements and have the proven ability to meet the high quality and precision specifications that are necessary for all work related to submarines. All Division personnel is specially trained and qualified to meet the demanding standards necessitated by their kind of work.


The HSY SM Division is certified according to ISO 9001:2000 by Germanischer Lloyd Certification Gmbh.


The modern ship-lift and mooring system that is available on HSY premises, has the following main characteristics that fully serve the needs for the related submarines’ works:

 

• Platform length: 70 m.
• Platform width: 18 m.
• Hoist lifting capacity: 3.800 kN
• Nominal lifting capacity:  2.789 tn
• Number of capstans: 2
• Number of mooring winches: 2
• Number of hoists: 12
• Number of bollards: 34
